Recap for Wednesday January 29, 2020

Here’s a quick recap if you missed the last Rotary meeting.

The Kites on Ice Festival is quickly approaching on Saturday February 8th.  Sign ups are nearly full but there are still opportunities to help out at the kite building tent, direct traffic or assist with the fire pits.  Please remember that Rotary is a major sponsor the of the Kites on Ice Festival. You don’t want to miss out!!! The 2nd annual event will be even bigger than last year... and by the looks of it, MUCH WARMER!

Food Shelf Friday have openings in the next month.  Please sign up online or at next week’s meeting!

It should be on record that Diane told members at the meeting to "Go Jump in a Lake!"
Well... into Buffalo Lake specifically, to help raise funds funds for the Special Olympics Polar Plunge on March 7, 2020.  More information on joining the group, or to donate to the event can be found at:
Additional questions can be directed to Diane Erkens.

Matt Crawford with Cassia spoke to the group about the merge of Elim Care and Augustana Care and the impact to our community. The name Cassia was inspired by an anointing oil referenced in the Bible that is said to symbolize the heart of a servant. Two of our Buffalo facilities (Lake Ridge and Park View) have 5 star ratings which are received from quality indicators such as preventing falls. A 5 star rating is difficult to receive and it can change monthly. Currently in MN there are 380 facilities, 18 of those facilities have 5 star ratings. Be proud that Lake Ridge and Park View have 2 of those 5 star ratings.

Have a great week and Go Make Connections!
