Recap for Wednesday, July 17, 2019
Here’s a recap of last Wednesday's  Meeting:

Your Car Raffle Tickets are now available from Jackie Wurm.  If you didn’t get yours this week, please make sure you connect with her or get them at next week’s meeting.  Jackie asked that everyone please sell your tickets early so that if you have extra tickets or need tickets, those transactions can take place by September 1st.  The theme is OktoberFest and it sounds like it will be great fun!!  Lederhosen shorts, shirts and hat for men, traditional dress (long or short) with apron and accessories for women are available at the Maple Lake Costume Shop. Rentals ranges from $35 - $55 for the whole costume.

August 7 is our Capable Partners fishing day.  The meeting will be in Griffing Park on the 7th as we enjoy lunch with our fishermen with disabilities.  Tom Hanson is looking for fishermen to go out on the pontoons, fish cleaners and burger grillers. Please contact Tom to sign up to help!

It is not to late to get your tickets to Buffalo Community Theater’s Music Man.  They are offering discount tickets to Rotarians and their families.  Go to www.bctmn.org and enter the code mmrotary.

Our speakers were our Buffalo Rotary sponsored students to RYLA, [Rotary Youth Leadership Awards] which is held each April in Hudson, Wisconsin.  This year we sent BHS Juniors Delaney Elton and Troy Giddings. They both shared their experiences at camp RYLA and a little about what they learned.

Activities were centered around team building, creative problem solving, critical thinking and time management.  Delaney stated that one activity she found challenging was working with other students she just met. She learned that projects need leaders and followers.  Both Delaney and Troy felt they gained valuable knowledge understanding their personality and how to work with others based on the different personalities. The motivational speaker John Crudele was a highlight of the weekend.  RYLA works to build well rounded citizens and leaders of tomorrow.

Thank you Chelsie for inviting our RYLA students.  Thank you to Scott Thieilman for helping coordinate the selection and details of the RYLA students.

The 2019-202 International Rotary theme is Rotary Connects the World.  You can read more about this in the July 2019 Rotarian magazine, President's Message.

Have an awesome week and Go ‘Connect the World’!
