Rich Scherber, CEO
Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge

Rich Scherber has served as CEO of Minnesota Adult and Teen for almost 30 years.
Rich sensed a call of God to take over the organization back in 1992. The previous
director had been asked to leave because of a moral failure, the organization was
over $25,000 in debt, the charity had no assets and the board was considering
closing down the organization due to lack of support. Today the organization is
one of Minnesota’s largest drug and alcohol treatment providers. With 11 Centers
statewide, the organization services up to 900 clients daily with a staff of over 400
full time individuals.
Prior to taking over Teen Challenge, Rich and his family served as missionaries in
Africa. Rich worked inside the Black Townships of South Africa during the height
of the Apartheid. Rich has a Bachelor’s Degree from Northwest University and a
Master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin in Psychology and Counseling.
He has been involved in full-time ministry for over 47 years. He has been married
to his wife Lynette for over 45 years. Together they have two daughters both who
work as medical doctors at the Mayo Clinic and MD Anderson Cancers Centers.
